The state of Virginia has published it’s first open source textbook under a creative commons license for the subject of physics. I saw this posted on the Open Culture Blog by Dan Coleman. It makes you wonder how the future of education from K-12 to higher ed will change with projects like this developing over the years. The cool part was that it was peer reviewed and written by many different physics people and it was published in 6 months. I am looking forward to other states following VA’s example. With the cost of education, a free book for  student is a great thing to hear. If you click on the link above, you can read the article. Enjoy!
