Visualizing Linux Commands

Sorry for the absence, it’s been a busy month….

I am currently learning Linux and one of the troubles I am having is that I am a visual and task learner. I like gui’s and a concept for me sinks in once I have done it a few times. One way I am starting to visualize Linux is in a vertical mode, instead of a horizontal mode. It helps me visualize where in a directory I am. Another tip my manager shared with me was to think like each piece of code is like a train car, you can add or take off as many pieces of the codes you want to make different combinations and out comes (Thanks John!). I am thinking about developing a visual cheat sheet for Linux common commands for the visual learners out there that want to dive into the world of Linux code.

Stay tuned :-)

  1. Angel – you’re doing an amazing job in your foray into system administration. You’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time – it’s inspirational. Looking forward to seeing the visual cheat sheet, though there may be a few already out there you can use for inspiration.

    Keep it up!

    John.
